The G.G. Weiner Collection

This fabulous collection has been accumulated since the turn of the century which should prove to be "The sale of the century!". Which was held during The Goodwood Revival week, so that interested parties and overseas visitors that came to the event would be able to view or attend the auction which was on view that week, and the sale was on Thursday 6th September at nearby Gorringes Auction House, North Street, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 2PE.

All of the collection was featured in the *book:

"Unique Lalique Mascots" comprising Lalique French glass Automotive Mascots (Hood Ornaments), Desk Ornaments associated Paperweights,Trophies and Bookends of the inter-war Art Deco period to modern (discontinued) pieces.

Also included in the sale was this wonderful large oil on canvas painting of the master himself René Jules Lalique working at his desk with an Albert vase in the foreground, commissioned in 1931 from his highly acclaimed artist daughter Suzanne, sold with full provenance.

Plus a large octagonal plate glass display case, black glass circular display stands, various Lalique ephemera relating to the mascots, including reference books, auction catalogues, brochures, flyers etc. The fully illustrated catalogue is £10 plus £2 p&p inland, £3 Europe and £5 sent oversea air-mail (we still have a few here).
